Because Human Services matter to ALL of us.

About us

Illinois Partners for Human Service is the largest shared voice of human service organizations throughout the state with over 800 coalition partners in every legislative district. We take the lead on some of the most complex issues facing the sector to ensure that all Illinoisans have access to a sector that is equitable, sustainable and speaks with a collective voice. The well-being of people who haven’t received enough support in life can be threatened when they don’t have the resources to weather life’s storms. Illinois Partners for Human Service is working to write a better story for all of Illinois by strengthening and supporting our state’s human service organizations so that everyone has the opportunity to reach their potential. Because Human Services matter to ALL of us.

  • With several regional HHS office closures across the country, we are deeply concerned about the impact on communities across Illinois. We are supporting our partners at Start Early in their call to action to oppose the closure of the Administration of Children and Families (ACF) office in Chicago. Use the form below to Contact your Congressional leaders TODAY and demand that they retract the closures and reinstate staff immediately.

  • A reminder, our Reframing Conversations About Aging Webinar featuring AgeGuide's Glenda Love, LCSW is happening April 9th! This training is designed for human service professionals who want to influence systems change, challenge ageism, and help build policies and services that work for people of all ages. Together, we will explore research-based communication strategies and real-life examples of how organizations are reframing their communications about aging to promote inclusion and disrupt harmful stereotypes. After the training, our team can provide technical assistance to help you update your communication materials. A recording of the training will be available to participants for 90 days after the session. If you work with older adults—or if you want to play a key role in reframing how your organization, elected officials and community think about aging—this training is for you. The cost for this training is $25. • Statement from Illinois Partners for Human Service on President Trump's recent decision on federal cuts to Public Health, Mental Health, and Substance Use programming in Illinois: “We are witnessing another devastating decision from the current White House administration, with the recent news of federal funding being cut from Illinois public health, mental health and substance use services. This programming that our human service partners provide is vital for our society, and our communities will greatly suffer from this decision. We remain committed to fighting for our community members to receive the services they need to thrive and to ensure the workers providing those services earn living wages.”

Did you know that 82% of frontline human service workers surveyed in Illinois reported not making a living wage? Women and people of color—who make up the majority of this workforce—are hit the hardest. And yet, they continue to serve, changing lives and strengthening our communities every day. That’s why we’re working with Illinois Partners for Human Services to demand Fair Pay for Human Service Workers! Follow along as we make the trek from Chicago to Springfield to make our demands heard.
