  • What are the 8C's of Self in IFS? The Self is at the heart of IFS therapy. Everyone has a Self, and the Self can and should lead the individual's internal system. The most known qualities of the Self are the "8 C's". Watch these videos to learn more about it:  https://lnkd.in/dGu2kuVS https://lnkd.in/dW8EJZzg 1- Curiosity Self has a curious and non-judgmental attitude towards all Parts, even those that may initially seem challenging or difficult. 2- Compassion Self is compassionate and understanding towards all Parts, treating them with kindness and empathy. 3- Courage Self is courageous to face and explore inner conflicts and emotions, even when they may be uncomfortable or painful. 4- Connectedness Self recognizes that all Parts are interconnected and Part of a larger whole, working towards harmony and balance. 5- Clarity Striving for clarity in understanding the roles and intentions of each part, as well as their impact on one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. 6- Confidence Developing confidence in the ability to lead and manage the internal system, including the ability to heal and transform wounded parts. 7- Calmness Developing confidence in the ability to lead and manage the internal system, including the ability to heal and transform wounded parts. 8- Creativity Embracing creativity and flexibility in finding new ways to work with and heal wounded or conflicted parts. These 8 C's serve as a foundation for Self in IFS therapy, helping individuals navigate their inner world with greater understanding, self-compassion, and balance.   • What are the 6 F’s in IFS? When we want to connect with a specific Part, we go through 6 F’s: 1- Find  2- Focus  3- Flesh out  4- Feel toward  5- Befriend  6- Fear Watch this video to learn more about it: https://lnkd.in/dqEATEm8 1-FIND: The first step is to bring attention to the Part and then find the physical sensation of this specific Part in or around your body. 2-Focus: Once you have identified your Part’s sensations, it is important to focus on its image, sight, and sensation. This will help you better understand its unique perspectives, beliefs, and emotions. 3-Flesh out: While focusing on it, the next step is to flesh out and see if there is anything else we can find about this Part. The details you find can be urges, voices, reactions, etc. that will help you better notice the Part within your system. 4-Feel toward: We check to see how we feel towards this Part of us. For example, if we are having an angry Part, we explore how we feel towards this anger. If we're feeling something other than curiosity, compassion, or the other 8C's, then we're blended with another Part, which we need to acknowledge and ask for space. 5-Befriend: We ask questions from the part to know it better and aim to develop a deeper relationship with it through compassion, and understanding. 6-Fear: The final step is to understand the protector’s fears if it didn’t do its role, which leads to the vulnerability or Exile that is protecting. In IFS, we categorize our Parts into 2 groups, named: 1-Protectors (Firefighters & Managers) 2-Exiles Protectors are like an outer layer that protects Exiles.
