It’s been a year since IDEA39’s founder, Adrienne Pickett, completed the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses in Detroit last year. Adrienne had the wonderful opportunity to join a cohort of small business owners in Detroit to learn, share ideas, and grow Idea39’s knowledge. She keeps in touch with cohort members through quarterly networking events that GS10K hosts, monthly virtual lunches, ongoing coaching with previous mentors and through National GS10KSB Connect, which hosts monthly CEO Roundtables for education, and learning. Philanthropic advisor Radha Friedman is “on a mission to encourage investing in under-represented voices--especially women and girls of color, women with disabilities, and women who are LGBTQ or gender expansive.” Friedman is the author of Fundraising without Burnout: Radically Reimagining Philanthropy to Transform Your Impact. She says the book is a “love letter to fundraisers everywhere, who are often under-appreciated and undervalued.” Her company, Radhacal Good, is a women-owned, minority-owned business and is certified by the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). Did you know? Over 75% of people working in the nonprofit sector are women, and yet less than 25% of those women are in leadership positions. Triple Pundit spoke with nonprofit executive search and transition expert Sara Garlick Lundberg who said “it all comes down to not working hard enough to get rid of implicit bias, which nonprofits should be aware of and work on internally. Sexist and misogynistic biases should be purged from any hiring process within organizations seeking to increase female leadership in their ranks.” Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gHJMdHHn #WomensHistoryMonth #WomenMakeHistory #NonprofitWomenLeaders [ALT Text: Purple background with bold white text reading, 75% of people working in the nonprofit sector are women.
