New, enabling, research to transfer many of the capabilities of rigid wearable electronics into ASTs has surfaced including: weavable conductive polymer “wires”, energy harvesters powered by the body, ultra-low power printable computers on cloth, microphones that behave like threads, and “scrunchable” batteries that can function after many deformations. In order to transfer this research into AST products, revolutionary new materials and manufacturing techniques are needed to develop complete and integrated systems containing mechanically deformable and durable: 1) power sources, 2) sensors, 3) computation and data storage, and 4) electrically conductive system component “wires” and interconnects. Can AI and quantum truly work together, or are we still figuring it out? 💭 This morning’s keynote panel at #QTUSA25 brought together leaders from RTX, IARPA, Schneider Electric, and Nestlé to explore how AI and quantum are beginning to intersect across government and industry. 🗣️ Rick Muller (IARPA) challenged assumptions: “It’s a myth that quantum will be used for general computing. These systems will be purpose-built for specific problems.” 🔌 Aparna Prabhakar (Schneider Electric) added: “We don’t know yet whether AI and quantum can even operate in the same data centers - there’s still a lot to figure out.” 📊 Yancho G. (Nestlé Americas) finalised with: “AI wasn’t a strategic priority until ChatGPT came along - quantum might follow the same path, but it could take 10–15 years.” The message? The convergence is happening, but there are real infrastructure, talent, and integration challenges still ahead. #QTUSA25 #quantumtech #quantum #technology #cryptography

The IARPA SINTRA program aims to investigate the interaction of orbital debris with the surrounding space environment and drive the state of the art to detect, track, and characterize lethal non-trackable orbital space debris. Space debris poses a risk to all space missions, including those of the Intelligence Community (IC). With an average low Earth orbit (LEO) impact velocity of 22,500 MPH, even the smallest of debris can cause significant damage. Currently, there are over 100 million objects greater than 1 mm orbiting the Earth, however, less than 1 percent of debris that can cause mission-ending damage are currently tracked.
