  • @SymriseFineFragrance's new space engages all 5️⃣senses, not just smell 👃 Created as an elegant client experience, Symrise's new, hospitality-forward space helps them achieve fragrance mastery. Dubbed the "apartment," the design embodies hospitality and refinement, featuring a luxe, red-hued library, a velvety living room with thick, cream carpeting and red leather couches, and a lavish dining room where intimate, sumptuous client dinners are hosted. • In honor of 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗛𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵, we asked our female design and corporate leaders firmwide to share their favorite book, with the only parameter that it had to be a female author. 📚 We then paired the books with some cozy reading spaces, and voilà - a perfect spot to settle into one of their recommendations. Check out what they chose below. We hope it inspires your next read! 📖 📘 📗 📕 📙 1. 𝘙𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘺 𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦𝘴 by Shelby Van Pelt - "While this book is fiction, the window into octopus intelligence through the narration of Marcellus, a pacific octopus, was fascinating. Haven’t looked at octopus on a menu the same since!" - Julia Leahy Design Principal, IA's Boston Studio 2. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘯𝘭𝘺 𝘞𝘰𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘰𝘰𝘮 By Marie Benedict - "This is one of my favorite books. I am inspired by the life of Hedy, who was a brave, strong, and ingenious woman. She is known to the world as a glamorous screen icon but, in reality, was ALSO a scientist, inventor, and rebel, escaping the Third Reich and actively supporting the war effort. People are not always what they show to the public and we are all much stronger than we realize if only we are brave enough to try." Esther Nunes, CID, NCIDQ, IIDA Design Director, IA's DC Studio 3. 𝘉𝘪𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 by Elizabeth Gilbert - "I recommend 𝘉𝘪𝘨 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤 by Elizabeth Gilbert because it inspires creative leaders to embrace vulnerability, pursue their passions fearlessly, and cultivate a mindset of curiosity and resilience in the face of challenges." Joanna Breda Design Director, IA's Hospitality Studio 4. 𝘙𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘱𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 by Tara Brach "This book speaks to the practice of fully embracing ourselves and our experiences with compassion and without judgment, recognizing that true freedom comes from accepting life as it is in the present moment. Britni Harvison Creative Director, FYOOG 5. 𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘩 by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie - "𝘈𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘩 is such a striking, singular story. It expanded my mind and enhanced my perspective; I've read several of her books since. She is an incredible writer and feminist force." • Who are the 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸? In the first post of her blog series for VMSD, Carlotta Dove, IA's Director of Consumer Experience, dives into this very topic. 💡 Drawn from research uncovered in IA's whitepaper, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗘𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, Dove examines four archetypes, exploring what motivates them to connect with aesthetic brands and what inhibits them currently. 🔎 Click the link below to learn more 👇 https://bit.ly/4hKvqW2

  • To create a vibrant innovation hub for this software firm's new office, IA honored the industrial building's structure by preserving key elements while introducing fresh, contemporary features. 🏗️🧱 Drawing from the existing warehouse structure, the brick walls, exposed concrete, and iron glass windows were left unadorned, celebrating the building’s legacy and supporting the concept of authenticity. Incorporating complementary industrial materials, such as blackened steel, rope, pegboard, and copper, revitalized the space without overpowering the beauty of the structure. 🔍 Learn more here: https://bit.ly/3XppY3G 📍: San Francisco, CA 📸: Garry Bellinksy #IndustrialCharm #WorkplaceInspiration #WorkplaceDesign #InteriorArchitects
