President Biden issued a major disaster declaration for California, making federal resources available to affected individuals in Los Angeles County. Here at HUD, we have announced the implementation of federal disaster assistance for the State of California and ordered federal assistance for state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in areas affected by wildfires and straight-line winds beginning on January 7, 2025, and continuing.

The Biden-Harris Administration has just delivered an additional $12 billion in critical, long-term assistance to communities impacted by the Lahaina Wildfire, Hurricane Helene, Hurricane Milton, and other disasters in 2023 and 2024.
