#ClimateAction of the day: Urge Congress to get back in session and pass emergency funding for Hurricane Helene relief! Hurricane Helene has devastated communities across the southeastern United States, and Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee all face an uphill battle on the road to recovery. These areas will not be able to rebuild -- and do so with resilience in mind -- without financial support. And now Hurricane Milton is on its way and expected to hit as a powerful Category 5 storm. Even if the current fund can support relief efforts for Helene, more funding will be needed as we proceed through hurricane season. It is time for Congress to get back in session and give these communities the support they need. To respect donor intentions, Direct Relief’s online donation page requires donors to choose either “Hurricane Helene,” “Hurricane Milton,” or a combined fund for both hurricanes, where donations will be split between the two responses.
