Yesterday, I had the privilege of guiding the powerhouse team at the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce through a dynamic workshop on Conflict Resolution and Feedback Mechanisms. Here’s what I love about working with small, mission-driven teams like this one: The stakes are personal, the relationships are close, and the conversations matter. We explored: - What triggers conflict (and why it’s usually not what we think) - The five conflict resolution styles and how to choose the right one for the moment - How to give feedback that builds trust instead of breaking it - Real-world scenarios, reflection, and role-play that made it all stick One of the team's most significant takeaways was a practical framework for delivering real-time feedback tailored to different communication and conflict styles. Proper conflict management, especially during crises or high stress, improves performance, creates team cohesion, and transforms culture, one conversation at a time. There is no denying that every workplace faces tension. But the strongest teams know how to turn that tension into trust and opportunities for growth.
