💚 This Work Together Wednesday during Week of the Young Child, we’re celebrating what happens when communities come together to support our youngest learners. We’re proud to recognize a moment when City of High Point Mayor Cyril Jefferson visited the High Point location of Appleville Academy to read with a group of bright, curious 4-year-olds. It was a powerful reminder that when local leaders show up for early education, it sends a message: our children matter, and so do the educators who support them every day. The impact of early childhood education reaches far beyond the classroom. Parents are able to work because of reliable care. Businesses can grow with a stable workforce. And our economy benefits: for every $1 invested in early childhood, there’s a $4 to $16 return — and in North Carolina, expanding access to childcare could increase our annual economic output by up to $13.3 billion. Early care and education is not just a family issue — it’s a community-wide priority. When we work together, we all grow stronger. 💛 Follow along with Guilford County Partnership for Children (GCPC) @GuilfordKids as we continue to highlight Mayor Jefferson's visit as well as discuss the ins and outs of childcare in Guilford County. #WOYC #WorkTogetherWednesday #SupportECE #InvestInEarlyEducation #SmartInvestment #ChildcareIsEssential #StrongerTogether #WOYC #MusicMonday #SpiritWeek #MonthOfTheYoungChild #EarlyChildhoodEducation #GuilfordCounty #GuilfordKids #EarlyYears #WOYC2025 #MOYC2025 #WOYC #MOYC #Greensboro #HighPoint #GuilfordCountyPartnershipforChildren #GCforECE

On this special Work Together Wednesday for Week of the Young Child, we are proud to present the 2024 - 2025 Anne Kirby NC Pre-K Teacher of the Year Award, an annual award established in memory of Anne Kirby, to recognize the dedication and outstanding accomplishments of NC Pre-K teachers in Guilford County. This year's awards are presented to two well-deserving and outstanding educators, both nominated and then selected by an impartial committee. 🌟Our 2024-2025 NC Pre-K Teacher of the Year Award goes to Nikkia Mack of Oak View Elementary School in High Point, NC. 🌟Our 2024-2025 NC Pre-K Assistant Teacher of the Year Award goes to Deajha Richardson of His Glory Child Development Center in Greensboro, NC. On behalf of Guilford County Partnership for Children, fellow educators and teachers, parents, and the children you serve, we say THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS! Guilford County Partnership for Children (GCPC), His Glory Child Development Center, and Guilford County Schools Pre-K teamed up to surprise each recipient with their class. We look forward to sharing footage and videos of these special moments as we continue to celebrate Month of the Young Child and the educators like Nikkia Mack, Deajha Richardson, and of course Mrs Anne Kirby, that make Pre-K in Guilford County so exceptional! #WOYC25 #SpiritWeek #MonthOfTheYoungChild #EarlyChildhoodEducation #GuilfordCounty #GuilfordKids #EarlyYears #WOYC2025 #MOYC2025 #WOYC #MOYC #Greensboro #HighPoint #GuilfordCountyPartnershipforChildren #GCforECE #AnneKirby

💚This Work Together Wednesday, during Week of the Young Child, we’re celebrating the essential role of early childhood educators — and the power of community collaboration to support them. We’re shining a light on a meaningful moment when our Guilford County Commissioner Frankie T. Jones, Jr. visited a local childcare center, Appleville Academy's Greensboro location to read with a classroom of very excited 3 and 4-year-olds. Commissioner Jones was welcomed by early child educator, Mrs. Cassandra Rankin, a long serving early childhood educator and fierce advocate for Family Child Care. A true gem among many, our local educators guide our youngest learners through their emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development during the single most formative years — yet in Guilford County they are compensated at an average of $13.50 an hour. Early childhood educators don’t just support children — they support working families, local businesses, and the economy as a whole. When we invest in them, we invest in stronger families, a more resilient workforce, and a brighter future for our entire community. It truly takes all of us — families, educators, business leaders, and policymakers — working together to give our youngest children the strong start they deserve. 💛 #WOYC #WorkTogetherWednesday #SupportECE #EarlyEducatorsMatter #InvestInEarlyEducation #StrongerTogether #SpiritWeek #MonthOfTheYoungChild #EarlyChildhoodEducation #GuilfordCounty #GuilfordKids #EarlyYears #WOYC2025 #MOYC2025 #WOYC #MOYC #Greensboro #HighPoint #GuilfordCountyPartnershipforChildren #GCforECE

💚 This Work Together Wednesday during Week of the Young Child, Guilford County is showing up in a big way — wearing green to honor the early childhood educators who make it possible for so many of us to show up for work, for family, and for life. Guilford County Partnership for Children and the WOYC Planning Committee handed out over 7,000 stickers that say: “I am at work today thanks to an early childhood educator.” Because it’s true — early educators are the reason parents can work, businesses can thrive, and young children can grow in safe, nurturing, learning-rich environments. In Guilford County, there are 31,550 children ages 0 to 5, not yet in kindergarten. Every one of them deserves high-quality, affordable care — and every educator deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated for the critical role they play in shaping our future. 💬 Now we want to hear from YOU! 📸 Drop a photo of your green gear or proud parent sticker in the comments, tag GuilfordKids, or email information@guilfordchildren.org 🧡 Share a story about an early childhood educator who made a difference in you or your child’s life 👶 Tell us why you value your early learning center 🌟 Or share what inspired you to become an early childhood educator Let’s fill this space with gratitude, memories, and the recognition our early educators so deeply deserve💚 #WOYC #WorkTogetherWednesday #SupportECE #ThankAnEducator #EarlyLearningMatters #ChildcareIsEssential #IAmAtWorkThanksToAnEarlyEducator #StrongerTogether #SpiritWeek #MonthOfTheYoungChild #EarlyChildhoodEducation #GuilfordCounty #GuilfordKids #EarlyYears #WOYC2025 #MOYC2025 #WOYC #MOYC #Greensboro #HighPoint #GuilfordCountyPartnershipforChildren #GCforECE
