  • What does it take to scale sustainable aviation fuel (SAF)? On a recent episode of SAF Investor’s The SAF Podcast, Conor Madigan, Founder of Aether Fuels, breaks down how Aether’s Aurora platform, built from GTI Energy's gas-to-liquid technology, reengineers traditional processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs. The result is up to 50% lower capital costs and 20% higher yields.  We are proud to collaborate with Aether Fuels on innovative approaches for developing low-emission solutions that fuel economies.  🎧Tune in here: https://lnkd.in/eyUPsSxP

Conor Madigan, co-founder of Aether Fuels, joins Oscar Henderson on this week's episode of The SAF Podcast. Madigan shares his journey from founding a successful OLED manufacturing equipment company to pioneering a transformative approach to SAF technology through Aether's Aurora solution. At the heart of our conversation is Aether Fuels' Aurora technology, developed with GTI Energy, which reimagines the traditional Fischer-Tropsch process for sustainable fuel production. By focusing on the syngas generation and upgrading steps, their system achieves up to 50% capital cost reduction and 20% higher yields than conventional approaches. Conor expertly breaks down how their "tri-conversion" reactor and innovative catalysts simplify production while maximizing carbon utilisation. We also explore the evolving landscape of SAF offtake agreements, where Conor provides valuable insights into the tension between investors requiring long-term contracts and airlines traditionally accustomed to shorter fuel purchasing timeframes. His perspective on how creative deal structures are emerging to balance risk and opportunity illuminates a critical aspect of scaling sustainable fuels. Conor also provides a nuanced perspective on strategic investor selection, highlighting the importance of partners who bring deep market understanding beyond pure capital. We also look at how this is managed against a backdrop of higher policy uncertainty and how to adapt to work with less policy certainty. Make sure you find time to check this episode out on the commute to the office, cooking dinner or out for a run. https://lnkd.in/eyUPsSxP

The Wabash Valley Resources project is demonstrating how gasification and carbon capture can advance domestic energy production, strengthen fertilizer supply chains, and significantly reduce emissions while creating jobs and attracting private investment.    GTI Energy is a proud partner in this transformation of an existing gasification facility into a low-carbon hydrogen and ammonia production site. We are especially pleased to see the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recognize this effort as a leading example of progress within the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management | U.S. Department of Energy’s Gasification Systems and CarbonSAFE programs. This project also reinforces the importance of the CarbonSAFE framework, which is central to advancing permanent CO2 storage and a core area of expertise for our subsidiary, Projeo Corporation, who provided strategic support for the Class VI well permits. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gFaDxMaM

As a part of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)'s extensive research portfolio, several projects have demonstrated promising advancements in #gasification technology. One notable example is the FECM-funded Wabash Valley Resources project based in West Terre Haute, Indiana. Once construction is complete, the project will provide a clean ammonia solution for fertilizer, meeting a critical need for low-cost, locally sourced fertilizer demand in the Corn Belt. ▶️ https://bit.ly/4kYi9fq

  • Hydrogen fuel will expand America’s energy options and solidify its role as a global energy leader.    As the U.S. invests in infrastructure, innovation, and workforce development, hydrogen stands out as a versatile solution that will power industries, fuel transportation, and support a resilient and flexible energy system. Hydrogen opens the door for American leadership in a rapidly evolving global market.    But realizing that potential will take more than new projects. It requires investment backed by confidence and transparency. Establishing trusted ways to measure and account for hydrogen’s performance will give producers, investors, and communities the clarity they need to build for the long term.    GTI Energy is focused on developing the science and tools needed to support this effort, recognizing that America’s leadership in hydrogen will depend not only on speed, but on the strength and reliability of the foundation we build.    https://lnkd.in/g7rt8C83
