Raising a child in the U.S. now costs an average of $26,011 per year, according to a new LendingTree report—and that doesn’t include child care. The financial pressure on Ohio families is real and growing. Ohio policymakers can offer real relief. The Senate must act to: 🟠 Restore publicly funded child care eligibility to 160% of the Federal Poverty Level 🟠 Reinstate the Child Care Choice Voucher program to $75M in FY26 and $150M in FY27 🟠 Restore the proposed refundable Child Tax Credit of up to $1,000 per child under age 7 These are not just policy choices—they’re investments in Ohio’s future.
