This is why we do what we do! We are thankful for our partners Kentucky Nonprofit Network and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development who help us meet the needs of our state!
This week I had the opportunity to attend a two-day grant writing training so that I can partner with a local ministry to write grants that expand their reach and services. After 5 years of attending professional development as a teacher, I am confident that I have never attended such a helpful, comprehensive training that has allowed me to walk away confident in practicing what I have learned. It was also surreal to be in a single room with so many people dedicated to serving others. There were representatives from local nonprofits who serve refugees, the unhoused, farmers, students, underserved children, people at the end of their lives, and more. I cannot wait to start using what I learned to secure funding for the ministry I'm working with and to connect more deeply with the Bowling Green community. 🎉

Grant Ready Kentucky ‘s Chief Strategy Officer Melissa Vermillion, MBA, GPC facilitated a strategic planning session with the Butler County Art Guild to help them narrow their project ideas to identify grant funding opportunities.
Strategic planning is an important part of grant seeking. Until you understand your priorities, how do you know what grant opportunities you need to look for? This prevents chasing the money. Last night I was invited to facilitate a strategic planning session with Butler County Art Guild’s leadership team. We walked away with some ideas for which we can now proceed to prospect grant opportunities. Thank you for the invitation. Great work Butler County Art Guild! #grantseeking #strategicplanning
