About us
Glens Falls Hospital (GFH) maintains a service area that spans 6,000 square miles across 5 diverse counties. Founded in 1897, GFH today operates an advanced health care delivery system featuring 20 regional facilities. A vast array of specialized medical and surgical services are provided in addition to coronary care, behavioral health care, rehabilitation and wellness and others. The main hospital campus is home to the C.R. Wood Cancer Center, the Joyce Stock Snuggery birthing center, the Breast Center and a chronic wound healing center. GFH is a not-for-profit organization and the largest employer in New York’s Adirondack region, with over 2,300 employees and a medical staff of over 550 providers. Glens Falls Hospital is an affiliate of the Albany Med Health System, which also includes Albany Medical Center, Columbia Memorial Health and Saratoga Hospital. WOW! A few weeks ago, our Volunteer Services department requested donations of fabric and yarn for our volunteers who create handmade items for our patients.... and our community DELIVERED! We received messages and calls from near and far - some even from out of state! Thanks to your generosity, our shelves are OVERFLOWING with over 500 lbs of fabric and well over 500 balls of yarn for our volunteers to choose from! These donations will go to our dedicated volunteers who create blankets, scarves, walker bags, and more to bring a smile and a bit of warmth to patients throughout Glens Falls Hospital. On your mark… get set… and GO! It’s time to register for the Aloha 5K family fun run and 1 mile walk to benefit Amanda’s House at Glens Falls Hospital! Come dressed in your best Hawaiian gear and join us on Saturday, May 31st at Haviland Cove in Glens Falls as we run, walk, or hula across the finish line to raise funds for Amanda’s House, Glens Falls Hospital’s complimentary accommodations for patients and their loved ones traveling a distance to receive care at the hospital. New this year, the return course will follow the new Pruyn Island trail along the Hudson River.
