Please join us in celebrating the incredible career and retirement of legendary Colorado PGA Teaching Professional, Steve Beach!
On Friday, October 25th, we invite Members for a small gathering on the banquet level to help celebrate Steve Beach's commitment to the Club.
Steve's Story:
Having started his golf career as a caddie at the famed Oakland Hills Country Club (Michigan) in 1967, Steve was destined for a lengthy and successful career in golf!
Steve's journey at Glenmoor began in June 1986, a moment he fondly describes as "serendipity." It was then that he crossed paths with the Caddie Master at the time, Jack "Cactus Jack" Prescott from Prescott, AZ. Steve went on to become the Caddie Master/Head of Outside Golf Services from 1986-1988.
In 1989-90, then Head Golf Professional, Winston Howe III, appointed Steve to be the Lead Assistant Professional, as he was elected to the PGA of America in 1992. Steve spent a brief time as the Interim Head Golf Professional at Glenmoor in 1995-1996 and made the move to becoming the full-time Head Teaching Professional by 1997.
During his 27+ years as our full-time Coach/instructor, some of Steve’s best memories are getting to spend time with members and helping improve their golf game. Many of Steve’s junior students are now very active adult members at Glenmoor, and Steve continues to teach their children. He has also been a big contributor to the golf community in Denver, as he wrote countless golf columns for The Denver Post and other Colorado publications.
