For so long, I wanted to go out on my own but I knew I couldn’t just quit (again). I found an unexpected path to make it happen. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it because I was very serious about taking this step. I think we’ve all had that moment of being ready to walk out the door and not look back -- no notice, nothing lined up, just ready to go! But as satisfying as that sounds, it’s not always the best approach. I had tried that once before. I left a job with nothing lined up, no real plan, just vibes! But 3 months later I was back to work, realizing I was in no position to sustain a freelance situation. Years later, when I knew the transition had to work this time, I took my time and remained at my job until I was fully ready to go freelance full-time. And I’m so thankful I did!
