Through meetings and feedback, Council members influence policy decisions and training programs, enhancing care quality and employee satisfaction. We are proud to have Cathleen Soda, Director of Patient Safety, serving as the Chair of the CNA Leadership Council. With 31 years of experience as a Registered Nurse—26 of those years with our organization—Cathy has held various roles, including Unit Manager, Director of Nursing, and Regional Nurse Consultant. Now, as Chair, she leads the team with a steadfast commitment to improving patient care and supporting CNA development. Cathy is supported by 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁, CNA at 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗿, who serves as the Co-Chair of the CNA Leadership Council. 🌟 Preceptor Shoutout: Tsega Asefaha! 🌟 With over 20 years of experience in long-term care, Tsega brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Her impressive background includes: • Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration from the University of Berkley • Master’s in Healthcare Administration from New Jersey City University • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (LNHA) • Leading multiple facilities to achieve 𝟱-𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗠𝗦 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 • Active member of the Health Care Association of New Jersey (HCANJ) and the 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝘆 Tsega’s journey reflects an unwavering commitment to the healthcare industry, and now, she’s passing on her expertise to Jalice Speed, BSHSA, CHFP, CPhT, Future Operations Leader. Introducing another new Future Operations Leader, Jalice Speed, BSHSA, CHFP, CPhT! 🎉 Jalice holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from Bay Path University, a Healthcare Financial Professional Certification from the HEALTHCARE FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION (HFMA), and proudly serves as a DEI committee member for the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHENJ). With experience leading specialty pharmacy programs across various ambulatory care settings, as well as hospital outpatient pharmacy operations, she brings a strong background in strategic planning, regulatory compliance, process improvement, and health system relationship management. Over the next few weeks, Jalice will be guided by her Preceptor, Tsega Asefaha, Administrator at 𝗔𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿. She is skilled in negotiating claims, mediating disputes, and participating in arbitrations and trials, with expertise in risk mitigation and legal strategy. Mary's professional credentials reflect her dedication to lifelong learning. In addition to earning her DNP, she is a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult Primary Care and Gerontology. She also holds a Master's in Nursing Education and is a Legal Nurse Consultant as well as a Registered Mediator/Arbitrator in Georgia. Since joining our organization in 2017, Mary has been instrumental in supporting our clinical, operational, and legal teams by providing guidance and education on managing family expectations, ensuring defensible documentation, and mitigating risk. In her new role, Mary will oversee clinical risk strategy, leading a team focused on litigation prevention, risk mitigation, and claims reduction. Her leadership will elevate risk management efforts while supporting our teams in delivering safe, high-quality care.
