When the road salt supplies are running low across New England, and specifically for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT), Genesee & Wyoming Inc.'s New England Central Railroad steps up to make an important delivery! Having originated on the G&W's Rochester & Southern and at American Rock Salt Company LLC, the cars were moved via CSX to Palmer, MA, where they connected to G&W's NECR. With the never ending snow globe that has required more salt than anticipated this year, NECR made an extra run from Palmer to Brattleboro with one crew, meeting the White River Jct.-based crew that took over the haul and made the delivery to West Lebanon, NH, to keep the roads salted in the region!
