Why and how Gemini Player Rating (GPR) can make a difference in your team. ▪️ Comprehensive Evaluation: GPR gives a holistic view of a player’s ability to contribute across different phases of play. ▪️ Position-Specific Insight: Not all positions are created equal. GPR applies the right mix of GPM and VAEP depending on whether a player’s role is more defensive, creative, or goal-oriented. ▪️ League Adjustment: The GPR takes league strength into consideration in its calculations enabling users to compare all players on the same playing field regardless of the league they play in. For example, if a player plays in the EPL, then the difficulty of the league is considered in calculating the GPR for that player.

We’re excited to introduce our Gemini Player Rating (GPR) to the Gemini App! 🚀🚀🚀 GPR is an intuitive 0–100 metric that evaluates a player’s current performance level in relation to other players in the same position. GPR combines two robust in-house metrics—GPM (Gemini Plus-Minus) and VAEP (Valuing Actions by Estimated Probabilities)—to provide a well-rounded assessment of each player’s on-pitch contributions. GPR shows how good a player is in their position by combining standardized (z-score) values of: ▪️ GPM (Gemini Plus-Minus): Estimates the goal difference contribution a player brings over a season, balancing offensive and defensive impact. ▪️ VAEP (Valuing Actions by Estimated Probabilities): Measures a player’s impact on how much each on-ball action increases the chance of scoring or prevents the opposition from scoring. The GPR is calculated based on all historical data available for a given player, weighted towards the present. Players receive a global score from 0 to 100, helping you quickly gauge their overall performance level relative to others. All calculations are league-adjusted for standardization.
