Marine Crews in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, are making significant progress on upgrading the city’s wastewater infrastructure by installing a new 42-inch sanitary parallel force main across Lake Langhofer. Garney completed a float and sink of over 1,000 feet of ductile iron pipe, creating much-needed redundancy. This new pipeline will serve as a backup for the existing sewer line, originally installed in the 1960s, while also increasing capacity to support future growth and ensuring uninterrupted service for the community. As the largest project in Pine Bluff Wastewater Utility's history, this $11 million capital investment will help prevent sewer backups and overflows, reinforcing the city's infrastructure for decades to come. We are proud to collaborate with the Pine Bluff Wastewater Utility team, its commission, and Crist Engineers, Inc. on this vital project, which has been in planning for five years.

Our project team in De Soto, Kansas, proudly partnered with Friends of the Kaw and local organizations to remove over 250 tires and debris from the Kansas River. These tires were originally placed decades ago to reduce erosion and were washed into the river over time during floods. Huge thanks to everyone who joined the cleanup to keep our waterways clean and thriving. #GarneyGivesBack Photo Credit: Friends of the Kaw #EnvironmentalImpact #Sustainability #Volunteering #Kansas

Garney partnered with Union County, NC, to deliver the County's first Progressive Design-Build project, the Yadkin Regional Water Supply Raw Water Infrastructure project. The scope included a new intake in Lake Tillery, a 45 MGD pump station with five vertical turbine pumps, 29 miles of large-diameter steel pipeline, a 300-foot micro-tunnel, railroad and river crossings, and rock excavation. By applying value engineering through the Progressive Design-Build process, Garney helped save $7.5 million in costs. Join us at the #DBIAWaterWastewater conference on March 21st to learn how early engagement and collaboration made this award-winning project successful! #WaterInfrastructure #DesignBuild #MarineConstruction #NorthCarolina

Last week, we brought our passion for water to Capitol Hill for the U.S. House hearing on water infrastructure. Dan Buckley, DBIA, Garney's Business Development Manager and former NUCA: National Utility Contractors Association Chairman, advocated that clean water and wastewater treatment are essentials, not luxuries. His testimony highlighted the urgent need for increased federal investment in programs like the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds—crucial for building and maintaining the water and wastewater systems we depend on. Thank you, Dan, for championing a sustainable future for the communities we serve! Take a look at the progress at the Bee Ridge Water Reclamation Facility in Sarasota, Florida! Garney is expanding the plant to increase capacity to 18 MGD and upgrading the treatment process to meet Florida's advanced water treatment standards. These improvements will improve water quality, reduce nutrient discharge, and offer new opportunities for reclaimed water use, such as irrigation and aquifer recharge. Join us at the WateReuse Association’s Annual Symposium on March 17th to hear how this project is advancing sustainability in Florida. #WateReuse2025 #WaterReuse #WaterInfrastructure #SustainableWater #Florida
