As of March 25, the humanitarian parole program that allowed Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan and Venezuelan migrants to legally work in the United States, has been terminated by the Department of Homeland Security. Consequently, approximately 532,000 men, women and children have 30 days to exit the country or risk being arrested and deported. With their temporary legal status revoked, these individuals face returning to circumstances that are inconceivable. In the case of Haitian migrants, deportation to a country in the throes of a deterioration in security, with a majority of the region currently being run by gangs, the high risk of violence without effective access to protection or justice, could result in human trafficking, abductions for ransom or worse. While the work of expanding our outreach remains a top priority for Friends of Hope, our existing and established partnerships allow for our organization to extend aid to Haiti and Nicaragua. Your donations are imperative to our logistics planning at this time. As has been our practice to date, relief supplies and resources will be collected and distributed by our ground team. These include but are not limited to MannaPack Rice, Prenatal Vitamins, Multivitamins, Dysentery Treatments, First Aid etc.. Thank you for your attention to this matter.  Your support and assistance are the foundation of our outreach. www.friendsofhopeintl.org

  • At Friends of Hope International, our work continues in the countries that we serve. The geopolitical climate has certainly required us to divide our resources and while we cannot speak to each individual deficit in this moment, we can and will bring attention to the resources and information that prove essential to assisting our community and our peers in this space. To that end, IAN is a priceless resource that we encourage you to bookmark and share at your convenience. Immigration Advocates Network utilizes the power of technology and collaboration to support immigrants and their allies. Volunteer opportunities and resources can be accessed by utilizing their search tool which lists organizations by state, according to address and/or zip code provided. Stay informed. Know your rights. www.friendsofhopeintl.org

  • It is our understanding that the CBP One mobile application, which migrants use to book immigration appointments, has been shut down and all existing appointments have been canceled. We are in the process of uploading resources and reference materials to our website as we receive them, and as we confirm the accuracy of the information therein. www.friendsofhopeintl.org The attached is a document detailing essential information for preparation and protection in the event of an immigration emergency. (Note: Section 6 is specific to Colorado)

  • The tremendous tragedy and loss that has impacted California has left us speechless. At this time, we are so grateful for those who use their platforms to share relief resources and guidance in the midst of such a catastrophic event. We will continue to update our page as we verify leads for possible assistance in the areas of food, shelter and animal welfare.

  • Isamar came to the foundation at 13 years old, her interest was sewing with a dream to design her own line one day. On Saturday, December 7, her dream was made a reality when her first collection was presented on the runway in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic Onward, Isamar! We are so proud of you! "So this organization, at the core, it was founded with the intention of giving youth education and training- like helping build them up in their dreams, so that they would have hope that their life can look different from the back-breaking work they have seen their parents do their whole life. Really just giving them hope and a vision for their future. If a child dreams it then Liony Batista, who you see pictured here, he wants to help make that come true. We came alongside this foundation around 2015. One of the things we sent was a large container of fabrics, and that was kind of one of the first classes that got going... was this 'Joy of Sewing' project, where girls would come and take that fabric and learn to sew little purses and things and then resell them. That started in 2015 and today, continues to be a class that's offered.” -Cross Catholic Outreach
