Releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.
About us
Compassion International is a Christian child development ministry aimed at releasing children from spiritual, economic, social and physical poverty in Jesus’ name. We are church-based: Compassion believes the Church is God’s chosen instrument to bring hope to a hurting world. We believe the strategic placement of local churches makes them best suited to address the holistic needs of the children in their communities. And only they can effectively deliver the Jesus-based teaching and whole-life care that children in poverty deserve. Compassion partners with 8,000+ churches in 25 countries around the world to deliver our holistic child development program. We are child-focused: Compassion’s ministry is focused on the individual child and his/her development. We offer this assistance irrespective of caste, creed, class or religion. At Compassion, we believe entire communities will feel the positive impact of our presence because what happens in the life of a child ripples throughout his or her environment. We are Christ-centered: Jesus is the core of our ministry and his life and teachings shape our programs. They reflect the spiritual commitments of our staff. And they guide how we love people, respect communities and cooperate with nations. We are committed to integrity: We hold ourselves to the highest professional and biblical principles in all aspects of our ministry and maintain the highest industry standards for our allocation of funds. There were tornados. There were flash floods. But it couldn't stop our shoot in TN. I can't wait for you to listen in on these conversations we captured for Compassion International's upcoming Unto Jesus campaign. Surprising topics. Incredible voices. Nuanced conversations. All modelling what it means to live unto Jesus, today. As I watched it unfold (in awe of the incredible team collaborating to bring this to life) I was so nourished and inspired! And I know you will be too.

Pray for your neighbours in Myanmar and Thailand. 🙏 A 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar on Friday 28th March, followed by a powerful aftershock that was also felt in neighbouring Thailand. Latest reports indicate over 2,000 people have died in Myanmar and more than 4,000 have been injured. In Thailand, at least 20 people have died so far, and the rescue effort continues. Our regional teams are working to support the children and families affected. “So far, the children who are sponsored in our programs are unaffected, and our church pastors are making contact with their respective families,” says Thailand National Director Harry Wathittayakul. Please pray: - For the rescue efforts in both countries - For children and families experiencing grief and loss - For the recovery of communities and neighbourhoods If you would like to give to support communities facing disaster in the Compassion neighbourhood, you can give to our Disaster Relief fund. The Lord is my refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. —Psalm 46:1 (NIV)

I had the awesome privilege of witnessing first hand the impact of the great work Compassion International has been doing in Guatemala for decades! What a gift it was to meet some alumni from the Compassion programs and to witness the Survival centers for moms and babies. This is sister Vilma, she has led the Survival centers in her area for twelve years! Imagine how many moms and babies have had a great first year and a wonderful foundation of faith through her love and encouragement and the support of generous Compassion donors! “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35 ESV
