It was all smiles yesterday as we joined the City of Fresno to celebrate the completion of the Fresno DPU solar energy and storage portfolio! California Elected officials, City of Fresno staff, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, SPURR Joint Powers Authority, project partners, members of the ForeFront team, and more all gathered at the Fresno-Clovis Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility to commemorate the energization of the the largest commercial solar energy and battery storage system in the U.S. A huge win for the City of Fresno, local ratepayers, and #California #cleanenergy. 🏆 A big thank you to the City for having us and to everyone who attended our "Flip Switch" ceremony. Cheers to a brighter, more resilient future for the City of Fresno! ☀️

Today ForeFront Power and the City of Fresno are flipping the switch on the largest commercial solar energy and battery storage system in the country! ☀️   The Fresno Department of Utilities (DPU) Regional Wastewater Reclamation Facility is now home to a 19.6 MW #solarenergy and #batterystorage system, capping off the DPU’s 27 MW-DC behind-the-meter portfolio across three of its energy-intensive sites. By offsetting electrical demand with low-cost renewable energy, the DPU projects combined are projected to save taxpayers $122 million dollars by 2045. This landmark project represents the culmination of our years-long partnership with the City of Fresno. Together we’ve completed solar energy systems at multiple City-owned sites including the Fresno Animal Center, Fire Station 18, SE Police Station, and Fresno Yosemite Airport Garage. Now with the DPU portfolio online, the City of Fresno is on track to host the largest multi-campus solar energy and battery storage portfolio in the world!    Thank you to everyone at the City of Fresno, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, and ForeFront Power who helped make this project a reality. This 4.6 MW solar, battery storage, and EV charging portfolio spans 24,800 miles, saves the community college district $8M over 20 years, provides cutting-edge STEM education to 30,000 students, and creates local jobs. For the 5th year in a row, ForeFront Power is an Environment+Energy Leader Award winner! This year our project with Kern Community College District has been recognized as a Top Project of the Year in Energy Innovation. The 4.6 MW solar energy and storage portfolio is delivering clean power, energy cost savings, and hands-on STEM learning opportunities across Kern CCD’s campuses. By generating 5.46 million kWh of clean electricity annually, the portfolio will help the District avoid emitting 3,800 metric tons in carbon emissions each year, which is the equivalent of taking 850 gas-powered cars off the road each year. We’re honored to once again be recognized by E+E Leader’s prestigious awards program and proud to support Kern CCD’s commitment to sustainability, educational opportunity, and energy resilience.
