I enjoyed being part of such an insightful conference! Looking forward to next year!
Bridging gaps, driving value—two keynotes at #FIMA25 this morning are all about turning frameworks and insights into action. Kyle Morton of EDM Council and Guy Lehman of DAMA New England / Northeast explored how the DAMA-DMBOK and DCAM frameworks can bring structure and cohesion to enterprise data management. Then, Phillipa H. of U.S. Bank shared hard-won lessons from the IT banking world—showing how internal data analytics can move the needle on real business outcomes. From governance to value delivery, Day 2 of #FIMA25 has offered practical strategies for the data-driven enterprise. Share your favorite moments and key takeaways below!

Another successful FIMA in the books. This year in addition to AI content, we are seeing more sessions focusing on the fundamentals, such as Data Governance and Data Talents. I had the privilege of doing the Keynote panel on “Evolving Data Governance in the age of AI” with Diego de Aragão, CFA from Citi, ⭐️Jay Krish from State Street, and Pawan Verma from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Thanks for our wonderful moderator Christopher Zobler from IBM. A few of the takeaways from the session: ✅ AI technologies have definitely heightened the risk for data privacy due to its advanced ability to discover patterns and infer highly sensitive information. ✅ How do we balance data risk management and AI innovation depends on your company's risk appetite and data maturity. ✅ What does not change in the age of AI is the need to focus on the fundamentals, i.e. Data Governance. ✅ We may run into compliance risks if we don't enhance our current data controls around data security/privacy. We may need to obtain consent if AI usage goes beyond the originally stated purpose when you collect the data. I also enjoyed my panel on “Lessons Learned in Data Transformation Strategies” with Pawan Verma from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Prasanti Cherukuri from City National Bank, and Erin Smith from T. Rowe Price. Thanks for our wonderful moderator Kyle Morton from EDM Council. A few of the takeaways from the session: ✅ One of the most critical components for data transformation strategy is the data talent strategy. Data talent strategy should include both recruiting efforts and an enterprise-wide data training program. ✅ Success criteria for any data transformation initiative should be measured by the business outcome which could include increased efficiency, faster to market, reduced regulatory issues, and cost reductions etc. ✅ Having data champions telling the stories for you substantially increased credibility and result in a much greater impact on the overall data transformation efforts. ✅ The key for data transformation initiative is really the People. These could be your data stewards, business leaders, the three lines of defense partners, data scientists, and any stakeholders that you need to engage with data transformation project. How you influence and engage people will determine the success of your data transformation. As always, it’s great to catch up with my data circle friends. Thanks for Worldwide Business Research (WBR) Worldwide Business Research FIMA Events for hosting this. Marissa Alvord Matt Millman Justin H. As FIMA Events wrapped up yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend a fantastic Practitioner Led Boardroom session on #DataProducts, masterfully facilitated by Erin Smith. The discussion centered on the value a product mindset brings to data initiatives, and how to build a comprehensive data product lifecycle that incorporates best practices in data governance, data quality, and metadata management. For Arrayo , it was incredibly informative to hear directly from industry leaders about their real-world experiences implementing a product lifecycle approach to data. Here are a few key takeaways from the session: 🔹 The evolving definition of data ownership 🔹 The importance of early adoption and involving consumers in the strategy from the beginning 🔹 A strong emphasis on a consumer-first mindset 🔹 The critical need for collaboration across Tech, Business, and Data teams 💬 Huge thanks to Erin and all the participants, including Patty Aenchbacher, PMP Delia Dias Alavandar Chennakesavan, for such a rich and engaging discussion. We're leaving full of new ideas! #FIMA2025 #DataProduct #ProductMindset #DataGovernance #MetadataManagement #DataQuality #Arrayo #FinancialData #CustomerFirst
