Spring spirit was alive at STEM Academy this week with a creative and competitive twist — an all-school egg knocking tournament. Each student was given a random hardboiled egg, which they decorated before competing. The competition began in classrooms, where students went head-to-head using both the pointed and rounded sides of their eggs to determine class champions. Later in the week, class winners advanced to a grand championship round to crown all-school champions for both the pointed-side and rounded-side contests. It was a festive way to celebrate the season, bring students together and enjoy some friendly competition.

At Lakeshore, students are given opportunities to hone their leadership skills daily with opportunities like the buddy system, where older students are paired with younger ones for activities like crafts and reading. We are pleased to announce Steven Rosencrans as an assistant principal at Fond du Lac High School. Mr. Rosencrans has been serving as an interim assistant principal for the 2024-25 school year and previously taught English at the high school for seven years. “Mr. Rosencrans has shown strong leadership and a clear commitment to student success as interim assistant principal,” said Matt Steinbarth, Chief Academic Officer and incoming Superintendent. “His familiarity with the high school and his ability to build positive relationships make him a valuable part of our leadership team.” We are excited to have our 2025-26 leadership team in place and look forward to continuing our dedication to changing outcomes for our students.

We are pleased to announce that Nathan Brunnbauer has been promoted to Assistant Principal at Sabish Middle School. He has served as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) at Parkside Elementary for the last three years. "Mr. Brunnbauer brings a strong commitment to student growth and a proven leadership ability," said Matt Steinbarth, Chief Academic Officer and incoming Superintendent. “We are confident that he will make an impact at Sabish Middle School, and we are proud to support his continued leadership journey." Mr. Brunnbauer has a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Lakeland University and a Master of Educational Leadership from Marian University. After sharing his interest through our administrative hiring pool, Mr. Brunnbauer applied, was interviewed, and chosen for the role. Our district continues to look for promising candidates throughout our district staff who have shown the needed attributes for leadership opportunities.

Kindergarten Teacher Kim Trent is changing outcomes. Her students may be small, but they are mighty. Kim doesn’t underestimate their capabilities. Instead, she recognizes they are capable of amazing things. “Right now, I am setting one-on-one personal, individualized learning goals for my kindergarten students. A lot of people think that kindergarteners can't do that, that they're too young. They can't have goals and do goal setting. But here’s the thing: they can,” Kim says. “They're so excited when they do it. For example, they're coloring in their graph to show how many letters they've learned, and when they meet their goals, they're so excited that they hold up their graph so I can take a picture and share it with their parents.” #Fondy #FondyChangesOutcomes #FondDuLac #CardinalFamily
