I love how this post captures our belief that both programs and data should be intentionally curated to unlock powerful insights. At Exponent Partners we know that with the right data structure, every nonprofit can turn raw numbers into a compelling story for increased social impact! #NonprofitTech #ImpactMeasurement #DataCuration
Programs aren’t just delivered - they’re curated. So is the data behind them. One of the more complex (and rewarding) projects I worked on in the nonprofit sector was supporting program planning and reporting across multiple service areas. Each quarter, we worked closely with staff to gather project-level data, which rolled up into programs, then into full divisional reporting. We relied on a static SQL database - and with staff only leveraging the system on a quarterly basis, each cycle felt like starting from scratch. ⚠️ Inconsistent data entry ⚠️ Minimal visibility into trends ⚠️ No easy way to compare performance over time And yet, so much effort went into wrangling the data just to keep things moving. What I learned: the more refined and intentional your data structure, the more powerful your insights become. Curation isn’t just about organizing information - it’s about unlocking the insights that drive action. Build systems that grow with your strategy and help you understand the story your data is telling. #NonprofitTech #DataCuration #ProgramManagement #ImpactMeasurement #DigitalStrategy
