The Executive Protection Institute (EPI) will be conducting our "Fundamentals of Executive Protection Certificate Course" at the Lehigh University in Bethlehem PA on August 4-5. The course reviews the basic fundamentals of Executive Protection through presentations. table top exercises, and some practical exercises over two 8 hour days. This is a good introduction for those new to EP, and also a refresher for those experienced. The course is eligible for ASIS certification points (16). ✅ When developing the Protection Response Tactics Program at the Executive Protection Institute, I aimed to provide personal protection agents with a new perspective on evaluating protection scenarios by breaking down physical interactions into their fundamental concepts and components, rather than relying on techniques from various martial arts. ✅ This approach emphasizes the adaptability of techniques in all directions without repositioning, crucial for handling multiple threats simultaneously, a scenario often encountered by agents in crowded environments. ✅ My teaching emphasizes the "360 Degrees of Destructive Force," a principle allowing agents to deliver force in any direction, essential for real-world protection scenarios that extend beyond sport-based systems, which typically focus on a single opponent. ✅ This principle guides agents to apply techniques effectively in any posture—standing, squatting, or lying down—and in various settings, like amidst a crowd, near vehicles, or in confined spaces like restaurant booths. ✅ The program also stresses the visual and social acceptability of the techniques used, ensuring that the actions of protection agents are legally justified and appear appropriate to onlookers, which is vital in public settings and when media exposure is likely. ✅ The practicality of techniques across different levels of force and energy, especially in high-visibility environments like red-carpet events, is a critical focus. ✅ Overall, the Protection Response Tactics Program educates agents on the versatility of defensive tactics, ensuring they are prepared for a broad range of situations, from high-energy conflicts to controlled, low-force interactions, all while maintaining a client-based focus rather than self-defense. ✅ This comprehensive approach is designed to equip protection agents with the skills necessary to effectively safeguard clients in diverse environments and under various circumstances. #ProtectionResponseTactics #defensivetraining #martialarts #personalprotection #protectionagent #ExecutiveProtectionInstitute
