We'll be heading down to Indiana's Muscatatuck Urban Training Center on April 7th, where the seven Stage 3 teams will fly their UAS through test courses and a simulated public safety scenario to prove how effectively they can locate, retrieve, and ferry data from sensors in a field to a command station. Two weeks from today, #NIST PSCR will present at #FDIC2025 at 10:30a on "Drones and Autonomous Systems: Expanding the Fire Service Toolbox". In addition to discuss the growing role of UAS autonomation in search and rescue, sensor data collection, reconnaissance and more, PSCR will announce the winners of the First Responder #UAS Wireless Data Gatherer Challenge (UAS 6.0). The Stage 3 Live Contest will be held earlier in the week at Indiana's Muscatatuck Urban Training Center with seven teams flying their UAS through test courses and a simulated public safety scenario to prove how effectively they can locate, retrieve and ferry data from sensors in a field to a command station. Exciting updates from the March 2025 #Aurorasaurus Report-A-Thon! This semiannual virtual event brings together aurora chasers, scientists, and enthusiasts to share real-time sightings and contribute valuable data to space weather science.
