About us

The Energy Bar Association strives to promote professional excellence and ethical integrity of its members in the practice, administration, and development of energy laws, regulations and policies by providing superior educational programing, networking opportunities and information resources. The EBA is an international, non-profit association of attorneys, non-attorney professionals, and students active in all areas of energy law. EBA has seven regional chapters across the U.S. and an increasing number of members in Canada and Mexico. The EBA hosts numerous educational seminars annually, including two national conferences a year. The educational programming focuses on providing introductory to advanced level programs, many approved for continuing legal education credits (CLE). An important part of EBAs success has always been its member interaction and networking opportunities. EBA hosts various lunch, reception and dinner programs providing opportunities for our vast membership to meet and share their expertise. The Energy Bar Association (EBA) was established in 1946 as the Federal Power Bar Association and in 1977, the organization changed its name to reflect the name change of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Navigating the layered landscape of energy policy, markets, and regulatory frameworks is not easy, but is so important to the success of infrastructure projects and to the realization of broader regional benefits. If you’ll be in Washington, DC, on May 1 and 2, reach out to connect with our President & CEO, Marc Montalvo – he’ll be having conversations with longtime industry colleagues at the Energy Bar Association's 2025 Annual Meeting & Conference. This year’s program features timely discussions of resource adequacy, load growth, and long-term regional transmission planning – Daymark currently advises clients on matters including wholesale market design, load forecasting, procurement, and strategic transmission planning. Message Marc to connect in DC! #infrastructure #regulation #markets

  • On Day 2 of our Conference Countdown, we’re featuring one of our first concurrent sessions: "State Energy Policy in 2025." This session will focus on how state policy makers, agencies, and energy law practitioners are looking at their role in achieving state energy policy goals in an environment where the federal government is heavily focused on the expansion of American oil and gas. Panelists will discuss ways their approaches to energy policy and regulation are likely to change to respond to federal energy actions and what tools they view as essential to making progress on their state’s policy goals, such as but not limited to decarbonization targets, renewable and alternative energy goals, and construction of large infrastructure projects such as offshore wind and transmission expansion. https://lnkd.in/evhQmJy2
