EMBREY’s Construction Accounting and Project Administration teams recently had the opportunity to visit Collection Schertz Station—our 318-unit, build-to-rent townhome community in Schertz, TX. From framing and roofing to interior finishes and the clubhouse, the team saw it all—plus, great conversations, shared perspectives and some lunch. As Senior Project Manager, Rich Brinkmann, LEED A.P. BD C, PMP, put it: “This was a very positive step in helping paint a picture of what EMBREY projects look like in the construction phase for those who may not see it day-to-day. It also helped build camaraderie and strengthen our team.” This initiative, led by our Construction and Accounting teams, aims to bridge the gap between the field and office by giving team members first-hand insight into the construction process. The visit included a full project site tour, participation in the weekly subcontractor meeting and a deeper understanding of the project’s daily progress. In a series of recent team outings, EMBREY’s Investments team kicked things off with a friendly (and competitive) game of pickleball, bringing some energy and camaraderie to the court. Later, the team gathered at Topgolf for a strategic planning session to align on goals for the team and EMBREY as a whole. They heard division updates from Chief Investment Officer, Garrett Karam, Chief Development Officer; Jimmy McCloskey and Managing Director and Executive Vice President of Construction, Helena Finley. Last week, our Emergency Response Team, part of EMBREY’s new Corporate Support Committees, became officially certified in First Aid, CPR and AED through the American Heart Association—all made possible by our training partner, Cintas. From breathing emergencies and choking, to strokes, heart attacks, burns and other critical situations—our team trained to handle it all. They also got hands-on with the 5-step CPR and AED process. This month, our Construction Accounting and Project Administration teams visited our build-to-rent community, Collection at Boerne, in Boerne, TX. The visit provided a firsthand look at the ongoing progress and collaborative efforts driving this project forward. After participating in the Project Superintendent Meeting and touring the site, the day concluded with a team lunch—a great opportunity to strengthen connections and gain deeper insights into the on-site day-to-day operations.
