The Erewhon $20 Strawberry was a great example of how social media can make a store a destination for younger, digitally native Gen Zers, something typically not easy to do with this crowd, according to NielsenIQ's Colleen McGinnis. McGinnis recently spoke at ECRM's Deli, Dairy & Bakery Session on Gen Z and the Fresh department, and noted that while Gen Z shoppers do make a lot of shopping trips, they are typically small quick trips primarily for prepared foods. However, by leveraging digital tech -- and social media in particular -- retailers and brands can drive more of these consumers into the store to find their products. The blog post below includes Joseph Tarnowski's video interview on the topic, as well as a downloadable slide deck from Colleen's presentation. Over the past several years home fragrance brand Fresh Scents expanded its distribution from specialty retail into mass and grocery chains as well via ECRM Sessions and RangeMe Immediate Opportunities. As Key Account Executive Andrew Allen explains: “When we were starting out, we had an amazing track record in specialty chains and a history of growing sales for our retailers year over year. But we were trying to figure out how to reach more consumers. By going to ECRM and having these conversations with buyers, over time these relationships formed, and we broke into mass for the first time and have grown significantly in that channel. Office supplies was another. It was a completely untapped channel that we had never had contact with before, but through ECRM those relationships started, and it was off to the races.” Watch Joseph Tarnowski's full interview with Andrew -- in which he discusses his very successful approach to buyer meetings -- at the link in the comments below! #sales #cpg #ecrmrangeme Tony G. As we get older, we tend to buy more private label products, according to PDG Insights Principal and CEO Diana Leza Sheehan, who spoke at ECRM's Private Label Sessions last week in Chicago. What this means for retailers and suppliers, is that it's important to get to engage shoppers early, so they will grow along with you. In the ECRM's latest blog post, based on Diana's interview with Joseph Tarnowski, she shares how different life stages impact how engaged we are with private brands. It includes the video interview as well as her presentation slides for download. Click here to see the blog: https://lnkd.in/gf284B9w #storebrands #ownbrands #cpg #retail #ecrmrangeme

Are we worrying too much about tariffs? Corey Hamilton thinks so. And he's in a good position to know how these tariffs will impact retailers and brands. He's the Founder & CEO of HRS Global LLC, which offers logistics and supply chain services to manufacturers from around the world. Each year, HRS Global transports thousands of containers into the U.S. from more than 20 different countries. That puts him right smack-dab in the middle of the tariff situation. During this interview with Joseph Tarnowski at ECRM's Sessions in Chicago, Corey explains why it's important for retailers and brands not to overreact, and how these tariffs will eventually equalize. How does a 12 y/o navigate presenting at a large buyer session like ECRM?👇🏽 Meet my ECRM-appointed Client Success Manager, Ms. Sammi M.! From the moment my mom registered me for the ECRM session to the moment we returned home, Ms. Sammi was there every step of the way, scheduling meetings with buyers, helping us understand the process, how to handle logistics, and even ensuring my pitch strategy was aligned with my buyer audience. ECRM isn’t just an activity. It’s an experience. And for young entrepreneurs like me or small businesses, that experience starts with the right support. When you understand your buyer avatar and have a guide to help you navigate the session, you’re not just showing up—you’re showing up prepared. Big thanks to Ms. Sammi for your expertise and kindness and thank you to the entire ECRM team for making sure Team Genius Squad was ready to shine!✨ #ECRMExperience #STEMPrincess #YoungEntrepreneur #RetailReady #WomenInSTEM #ClientSuccess #TeamGeniusSquad #GirlsInBusiness #BusinessAt12 #BuyerMeetingsDoneRight #ECRM #RangeMe

Why attend ECRM sessions in addition to Trade Shows? People always ask me why I do ECRM sessions when I can meet buyers at trade shows. Easy—they serve different purposes for my brand, and I love both! Here’s the 12-year-old breakdown with respect to the quick growth goals of my brand😁: 👉🏽Trade Shows = Learning trends, meeting people, getting inspired, and making on-the-spot sales. But it’s also me yelling “LOOK AT ME!” while everyone else is yelling too😂. 👉🏽ECRM = Pre-scheduled, 1-on-1 meetings with buyers who already confirmed they want to learn more about my brand. I get to pitch, connect, and talk real retail opportunities. Trade Shows help me shine and grow! ECRM helps me shine and grow quickly! When it’s time to go big and land high unit contracts —ECRM is my go-to! My largest and highest unit sell contracts have been secured using the ECRM model and RangeMe!🙌🏽 #STEMPrincess #RetailReady #YouthCEO #ECRMAmbassador #ECRMvsTradeShow #GirlsInBusiness #RangeMe #BlackGirlsInSTEM #YoungBossMoves #TeamGeniusSquad #ECRM

Is Gen Z too busy for fresh food? The 12- to 27-year-old demo is a TREMENDOUS opportunity at retail, but the group does pose considerable challenges when it comes to fresh departments like deli, dairy, bakery and the perimeter of the grocery store. ➡️ They are digital natives with a very busy lifestyle, and prefer convenient, ready-to-eat foods. ➡️ They also heavily skew toward impulse purchases, and don't typically plan out what they are going to eat, nor do they make shopping lists. They key to getting them to shop these departments, according to NielsenIQ's Colleen McGinnis, who presented at ECRM's Deli, Dairy & Bakery Session in Chicago, is two-fold: ✔️ Bridge the digital and in-store gap y leveraging social media to get them in the store and other digital options (in-store text/QR codes) to engage them while they are inside ✔️ Provide more interactive in-store experiences like juice bars, olive bars etc. to create more of a destination In the video interview below, Colleen and ECRM's Joseph Tarnowski explore this topic, and in upcoming videos will dive deeper into some of the ways retailers and brands can get more of these shoppers into the fresh departments and buying more while they are in them! Stay tuned! Tyler B. Sarah Davidson Alessandra Andrade Balerini Marc S Santos RangeMe #ecrmrangeme #supermarket

NielsenIQ's Patrick Dougherty reviews the overall performance of private brands across the Food & Beverage and Health & Beauty Care categories and highlights some opportunities this presents for retailers and brands in this video interview with Joseph Tarnowski at ECRM's Private Label Sessions in Chicago. Some of these opportunities for driving growth can be found in those areas of innovation outside of price, such as focusing on wellness, flavors, and packaging. These areas are commonly addressed by national brands, and those store brands that follow suit by focusing on these areas of value and supporting them with marketing and messaging will be the standouts.
