Team DEO and @hollyjmitchell joined @mayorofla, @ewdd, Community Investment for Families Department, @communitycoalition, and faith-based leaders at the Impacted Family and Worker Center in Leimert Park for a roundtable lifting the voices of families who lost their homes and jobs in the Eaton Fire. The @cityoflosangeles has four Impacted Worker and Family Recovery Centers, two of which are co-located with our America’s Job Centers of California at West LA and Mission College and co-funded by DEO and EWDD. This Equal Pay Day, DEO joined First Partner @jennifersiebelnewsom and @latradetechcollege (LATTC) for a roundtable discussion focused on advancing women in the trades. At DEO, we are actively working to build inclusive, industry-informed pathways into high quality careers — ensuring that women and other underrepresented workers can access good-paying jobs that drive LA County’s economy. This past year DEO supported 42 women in our High Road Training Partnerships in construction and aerospace, two industries where we are making strides, but women have long been underrepresented. DEO and its LA County Film Office joined the “BREAK: The Dread” panel at the 2025 BRIC Foundation Summit Think Tank, where leaders explored how to break, reinvent, and transform the future of entertainment, gaming, media, and tech. Director LoBianco spoke on the changing landscape of the industry and highlighted how the County is making investments to keep productions, jobs and talent here as demonstrated by DEO’s $1.5 million investment in the r Arts, Media, and Entertainment (AME) High Road Training Partnerships (HRTPs). LA County Board of Supervisors, DEO, and fellow County Department Heads visited the CA Capitol and with State leadership to host a roundtable and meetings about wildfire recovery efforts and needs. DEO remains committed to advancing the recovery, rebuild, and resilience of impacted workers, small businesses, and communities through capital, programs and services, and technical assistance. We know we will see our communities rebuild with their unique character and in a more fire resistant and sustainable way.
