At Dwell, we take our weekly team trainings seriously. Each week, a different team member leads the session, usually about design, details, and coordination. This time, Ivanna Rodriguez pushed us out of our comfort zones with a surprise public speaking exercise. Without any context, we were asked to grab a random object from the office. Then came the twist: we had to pitch it “Shark Tank” style, making the case for why our chosen item was the most essential tool for doing great work at Dwell. I ended up with a handmade head of Mike from Monsters, Inc. - not exactly an obvious workplace necessity! But that’s what made it so engaging. We all had to think fast, communicate clearly, and sell our ideas with confidence. The result? A fun, high-energy session that reinforced just how important storytelling and presentation skills are in our work. Shout-out to Ivanna for leading such a creative and valuable exercise!
