  • Dell's Project Fort Zero becomes the second ZT system to achieve Target Level Zero Trust; Target Level #ZeroTrust is DoD’s #cybersecurity outcomes-based requirement to achieve before September 30, 2027.  See what DoD CIO leadership has to say about this achievement: "We are happy to announce this milestone achievement set by Dell with Project Fort Zero. This brings the ZT PfMO one step closer to ensuring Components have secure and available ZT solutions they need to securely execute their missions and better protect DoD Data."   – Ms. Katie Arrington, Performing the Duties of DoD CIO "Dell's Project Fort Zero achievement of Target Level ZT is another success on the ZT scoreboard for us and for the warfighter. With this achievement Dell demonstrates the mature, ZT integrated cybersecurity outcomes we are beginning to deliver to DoD. Given the short amount of time since inception of the ZT effort within DoD, this is game-changing. The collaboration between DoD and Dell has accelerated our overall cybersecurity mission."  - Mr. Randy Resnick, SES, Chief ZT Officer for the DoD "The efforts and accomplishments of Dell's Project Fort Zero and the DoD Zero Trust Portfolio Management team is just one example of how working together, we can deliver game-changing cyber-defense capabilities for all DoD Components to leverage, which can put them on the fast train to Target Level ZT.”  – Col Gary Kipe, DoD CIO ZT PfMO Chief of Staff

  • After months of coordination, and with support from AFCEA International and the National Defense University, the DoD Office of the Chief Information Officer’s (DoD CIO) Workforce Innovation Directorate (WID) hosted its highly anticipated, and inaugural, 2025 Cyber Workforce Summit (CWS) from 20-21 March. The two-day event featured prestigious keynote speakers such as Ms. Katherine Arrington, Performing the Duties of the DoD Chief Information Officer; LTG Paul T. Stanton, Director of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and Commander, Joint Forces Headquarters-Department of Defense Information Network; and Gen. Timothy D. Haugh, Commander, U.S. Cyber Command and Director, National Security Agency. Audiences received state-of-the-workforce updates from the agenda’s speakers who underscored the importance of a highly trained and exceptionally qualified cyber workforce. Speakers also echoed the Secretary of Defense’s priorities to confront current cyber landscape challenges by reviving the Department’s warrior ethos, rebuilding the military, and reestablishing deterrence. The CWS offered participants the opportunity to network with industry and federal partners who provided technical and conceptual expertise on the various products and offerings they extend to the DoD. In addition, DoD civilian and uniformed participants received comprehensive overviews of the WID’s and Cyber Academic Engagement Office’s (CAEO’s) workforce developmental programs and tools such as the 8140 Qualification Program, the Cyber Excepted Service (CES), the Cyber Information Technology Exchange Program (CITEP), the Federal Rotational Cyber Workforce Program (FRCWP), and the DoD Cyber Service Academy (DoD CSA).
