Last week, we had the privilege of hosting 36 students from local high schools on a construction exploration day! These students worked with our instructors and plumbing students to complete labs similar to our curriculum. Then, they headed to Grand Rapids Community College to try drywalling and carpentry projects. Today was our annual 5th Grade DIG IN! Day as our students get immersed into the world of skilled trades like plumbing, electrical, roofing, HVAC, just to name a few. MEDC staff were thrilled to celebrate alongside Battle Creek Unlimited at a ribbon cutting for the new DoubleTree by Hilton in City of Battle Creek, Michigan. This project was many years in the making and required the support and cooperation of many local, regional, and state partners. Congratulations to the whole team on their hard work to bring this vision to life! As so many of the speakers at the ribbon cutting said, this is a project that will be hugely impactful in supporting a more vibrant, active downtown!

Our team had an incredible time at the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Western Michigan Chapter's Charity Clay Shoot!
