First and foremost, we hope you and your loved ones are safe and thriving during these trying times. It is with a heavy heart that we acknowledge the widespread devastation surrounding us, while many are uniting to support those in dire need across our community and North Carolina.
At present, the Unity Park Venue remains without power, and the status of utilities by Sunday is uncertain, given the recent flooding that has plagued the Commons building. Additionally, several participating restaurants are grappling with power outages and may lack the necessary provisions to cater to our event's size, while numerous volunteers face their challenges.
But here is some uplifting news: our need to reschedule for early Spring offers us the opportunity to craft an event even more thrilling than initially envisioned.
Rest assured, all Sponsorships and tickets will be honored for the newly scheduled date. Should you desire a refund for your donation, please do not hesitate to reach out.
We anticipate sharing the rescheduled date with you by the end of next week as we are waiting to hear from the venue.
Due to scheduling and hotel arrangements for our K9 team, please be aware that they will still be in downtown Greenville this weekend for training and a special photo shoot with Barry Peters Photography. If you encounter them, feel free to greet them and capture a fun snapshot with the K9 heroes to share on social media.
Thank you for caring about the children and doing what you can to help.
You are welcome to message me with any ideas or questions regarding Defenders For Children and the event.
