Here are just some of our images in celebration of Earth Day 2025, covering a diversity of landscapes, from a national parks in Africa to an ice melt in North America. DCVC portfolio company Kanvas Biosciences has developed a new spectral lightsheet microscope that surpasses the resolution and spectral capa­bil­i­ties of the best commer­cially available instruments! This tool will allow Kanvas to generate novel, proprietary data about host-microbiome inter­ac­tions, fueling AI models that help the company come up with new cancer treatments. One of our core beliefs here at DCVC is that new technologies and tools fuel scientific insights, especially in biology, rather than the reverse. Fervo Energy is crushing it. 31 MW PPA from Shell, upsizing their current live facility from 400MW to 500MW with no material changes. Glad that DCVC could be a major investor early enough — and often enough — to make a difference for the company and our LPs.
