🎉 GOOD DEEDS DAY 🎉 : We had an incredible time yesterday volunteering at the Connecticut Foodshare location in Bridgeport! Our team came together to assemble 385 food boxes, totaling 11,550 pounds of food that will go to seniors in Connecticut living below the poverty line. Huge thanks to Connecticut Foodshare for hosting us and for the vital work they do every day to support our community. CT's Old State House and Ruth Wyllys Chapter of DAR will host a food drive this Saturday, 4/19, from 12 pm - 4 pm at the historic site at 800 Main Street, Hartford. All donations of non-perishable food items will go to Connecticut Foodshare. CT is historically known as the "Provision State" for providing George Washington's troops with food, clothing, and supplies 250 years ago. Stay for a guided or self-guided tour, and admission is HALF PRICE! Two Lights for Tomorrow is an initiative celebrating the anniversary of the founding of the United States on April 19th and serves as a uniting call to action for our citizens to celebrate and come together "For the Common Good". ✨Last Friday, our Can Do Crew helped staff the Mobile Pantry located at First Congregational Church of Bristol. This Mobile Pantry is brought to the community by the United Way of West Central Connecticut and Connecticut Foodshare. The next distribution date is Friday, April 18th. 💙
