Scope creep...it's like planning to paint one room but you end up painting the entire house. It's the result of adding extra, unplanned work to a project. It's clients requesting a little tweak here, a small addition there; it might sound like, "So last night I was thinking," or "Just one more small thing to add." 🫠 Scope creep isn't inherently bad, but it can lead to significant challenges if not managed properly. Is your graduation year on your resume? Delete it! In our latest webinar, Creative Circle lead recruiter Tiffany Novak walked us through two resume samples, pointing out specific areas that need improvement. Her tip on education hit home for many. "Once a candidate has several years of experience, their exact year of graduation becomes less relevant. The focus should be on demonstrating skills and experience rather than highlighting a specific graduation date," Tiffany said. "And, education should be listed at the bottom of your resume, not at the top." Plus, leaving the date off your resume helps avoid the risk of falling victim to #ageism. The value that you bring to the role should always be the focus — not your age.

"Make sure your experience and skills aren’t hiding behind a poorly formatted resume — a simple format makes it easier for both applicant tracking systems (ATS) and hiring managers to quickly scan and identify your qualifications," says Cameron.
