#CPGPrincipalSpotlight Jenny has been a pivotal force for design excellence, project leadership, and strategic vision. Over her 30+ year career, she maintains the secret to her team’s success by keeping the client’s mission and brand centered throughout the process, as well as fostering collaboration and communication among various stakeholders. She intently focuses on every aspect of the process, from preliminary planning through execution of fine detail work, ensuring each client’s vision is achieved. What influenced you to follow your career path? I grew up in a creative family, with my mother and two older sisters being talented artists. Despite these influences, my parents encouraged me to pursue a career outside of art. As I excelled in mathematics, I initially considered studying computer science and was accepted into an engineering program. However, I soon realized I couldn’t ignore my passion for creativity. I sought a field that combined art and science, and architecture proved to be the perfect fit. It allows me to blend artistic vision with technical expertise, solving practical problems while expressing creativity. Reflecting on my 40-year career in architecture, I couldn’t be more satisfied with my decision. Here’s why I love what I do: Creative problem-solving: Architecture lets me shape spaces, merging aesthetics with functionality to create impactful designs. Turning ideas into reality: There’s immense satisfaction in seeing designs come to life and improving people’s lives through thoughtful spaces. Constant growth: Architecture is an ever-evolving field that challenges me to keep learning and developing professionally. Teamwork: Strong collaboration with colleagues, consultants, and clients is key. When the team comes together, it’s both rewarding and enjoyable. During this Women's History Month, we remember Dorothy Draper, known for her bold and vibrant color palettes and very anti-minimalist approach. She was one of the first women to professionalize interior design and open her own design company in 1925.
