Let’s hear it for those who send out handwritten thank you notes post interview! Here are some of the upsides: First and foremost, sending a well-crafted thank you note is recommended as it puts you in a positive light and it can differentiate you from other candidates - regardless of how it is sent. However, everyone can appreciate the extra effort spent to write a personal note and mail it. A handwritten note is not one of hundreds of electronic correspondences waiting to be read. And it can’t be electronically filtered out. You have more latitude related to length, providing an opportunity to expand on your interest or reinforce your fit for the role. Most people will tune out lengthy emails and texts, which is innately designed for short and quick comms.
