Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem
Space Research and Technology
Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) is the official ecosystem to access and use the EU's Copernicus satellites data.
About us
The Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem (CDSE) is the next step in the evolution of Earth observation data. The ecosystem offers immediate access to large amounts of open and free Earth observation data from the Copernicus Sentinel satellites, including both new and historical Sentinel images, as well as Copernicus Contributing Missions. CDSE offers comprehensive browsing, interactive exploration, and in-depth processing capabilities to unlock the full potential of Earth observation data. CDSE aims to support users in building various applications needed to provide accurate, timely and objective information which are crucial to create a more sustainable future. As the primary source of Copernicus Sentinel data, CDSE integrates open APIs and standards such as STAC, OGC, and openEO. Designed for seamless integration and federation, CDSE allows users to design, prototype, and operate applications while maintaining control over data access, visualization, user identity, processing integration, and data privacy. Explore how CDSE combines publicly funded services with commercial offerings to support a wide range of use cases. We have just opened the registration to the 2025 Living Planet Symposium! The programme for this year’s discussions is based around the following six themes: 📌 Earth science frontiers: how exploiting Earth observation data strengthens our understanding of the various interconnected systems of our planet. 📌Climate action and sustainability challenges: how data supports monitoring, mitigation and adaptation of environmental and societal challenges, helping to reduce impacts. 📌Earth observation missions: findings from ESA’s Earth observation science, Copernicus and meteorological missions along with results from national programmes. 📌Digital innovation and green solutions: exploring the integration of digital technologies and tools to enable green solutions to revolutionise the market landscape. 📌Partnerships with industry for new applications: partnerships to widen access to capital and boost commercialisation, further encouraging dialogue within the New Space ecosystem. 📌Global cooperation and policy support: the impact and the adoption of space infrastructures and data in supporting European and international institutions. The event will take place on 23–27 June 2025 in Vienna, Austria and the deadline to register is 26 May: https://lps25.esa.int/

🌊 Our oceans — they produce over half the oxygen we breathe, regulate our #climate, and support the majority of life on #Earth. This week in our #CDSE gallery, we share with you a guest feature by Brockmann Consult GmbH emphasizing how they use satellite data to analyze key #waterquality parameters. 🛰️ This #Sentinel2 image captures swirling sediment eddies stretching 1,300 km across the North Sea, from England to Norway. These formations, shaped by complex currents and visible from space! 👀 Discover both the science and the stunning beauty at https://lnkd.in/eAxyx3ZU #EUspace #Copernicus #CopernicusEU European Space Agency - ESA European Commission T-Systems International CloudFerro S.A. #Sentinel2-A is back in imaging mode for 12 months ! Together with Sentinel2B and Sentinel2C, we have at least 3 overpasses every 10 days over several parts of the world, including Europe, and some tropical zones affected by a persistent cloud cover. Many thanks to #copernicus DG DEFIS C. and European Space Agency - ESA, Tim Lemmens and to all the user community that signed our petition and asked for the extension. Have fun, and please, show us how adding S2A improves your results compared to S2B and S2C only.
