Connecting with nature has been something that I've chased my entire adulthood and career. I felt like no one in this country truly cared what was happening as long as the corporations lined their pockets with 💸 Until I found the community at Yellow Barn Farm. Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting our second Connecting Roads networking event here at Yellow Barn Farm. Our approach with these meetups has been to hand select an intimate group of thought leaders and innovators in the creative, entrepreneurial and outdoor space for meaningful conversation that goes beyond a surface level conversation. We were inspired to do this after years of attending networking events that were all generally built around an alcoholic happy hour and a full room of strangers for you to dive into upon entering. Even as an extroverted connector, I often found myself uncomfortable and not leaving with the connections I had hoped to make. With that, we’ve taken the curated approach from our other events and are experimenting with breakout groups, facilitated prompts and encouraging attendees to provide a give and take. We all have something to contribute, and oftentimes that skill is what the person next to you may just be looking for. There are so many directions in which this could go and we are so grateful to all of those who have already gone out of their way to make it onto the farm to share space with us. From masterminds to garden activities, we are left endlessly inspired for the next one 🙂

What is 'Connecting Roads'❓ Connecting Roads is an adjective, noun, and verb, meaning to connect two things together. You know when you have those full circle moments, or the feeling of deja vu? There's a similar feeling of euphoria when Connecting Roads. 💫 So what's with the logo? The logo represents a mountain divided in two, the ocean and the deep wilderness, two scenes that challenge who we are. Cairns at the top of the mountain represents confirmation that the path forward is indeed going in the right direction; the right direction is to climb.🌄 Connecting Roads is a project that I will work on for a lifetime, continuing to connect things, people, and places to create some special moments in this beautiful world. 🌍 #ConnectingRoads #ExperienceDesign #DestinationDevelopment
