Every month, the Connected Hubs team hosts a national online meetup for hubs across Ireland. It’s a lively and practical session – a mix of news, knowledge sharing, and best practice – where hub teams come together to learn, connect and collaborate. In this month’s call, we were joined by an excellent lineup of speakers: 🔹 Aidan Lawless and Mark O'Connor from Code Institute introduced an exciting new AI initiative currently in development for Connected Hubs members. 🔹 Josh Stanley from The Digital Business Club shared a generous offer available to both hubs and their members to support video profile creation 🔹 Eoin K. Costello discussed a new national survey focused on the green and digtial transformation and needs of small businesses 🔹 Caroline Hofman from the The Cube -National Centre for Low Carbon gave an update on their work and outlined supports available to help hubs plan sustainability-focused events and activities. Thanks to everyone who joined us – and if you're part of the hub network and not yet attending these calls, we’d love to see you next month! #InGoodCompany Western Development Commission

Interesting data from Ibec via Silicon Republic this week. Flexible and hybrid work continues to play a central role in employee wellbeing - and it appears employers are beginning to recognise that. Read the article: https://lnkd.in/eRsT_pF4 According to the research, 68 percent of employees say hybrid and flexible working is key to their overall wellbeing, and 35 percent would leave a high-paying job for more flexibility. Encouragingly, 28 percent of respondents observed an increase in wellness investment at their workplace, and a further 30 percent noted a moderate rise. However, the picture isn’t all positive. More than one-third of participants said their line managers are not adequately trained or supported to lead on employee wellbeing. And while hybrid work offers flexibility, one downside flagged in the survey is isolation. So where’s the middle ground? At Connected Hubs, we believe Ireland already has the answer. The Irish hub network provides an infrastructure for hybrid work that: - Supports productivity without the commute - Combats isolation with professional, welcoming communities - Gives employers peace of mind with secure, well-equipped spaces - Helps employees maintain work-life balance and reduce burnout - Boosts regional economies by enabling people to work locally If you're rethinking your company’s hybrid strategy, it’s time to explore the hub option. #ConnectedHubs #InGoodCompany #HybridWork #FutureOfWork #FlexibleWork #RemoteWork #WorkLocal Ibec Silicon Republic Western Development Commission

Are you based in Waterford... Can you help Graham??? ⬇️
What are the "Challenges of Hybrid Work" for SME's based in #Waterford? This week I am working remotely from the fantastic workLAB Waterford - part of the Connected Hubs network in Ireland and have an ask for any #Waterford-based SME owners, HR Managers, Ops Managers & Team Leads 👇 Can you give me 20 mins to hear about the real world day to day challenges you're facing with remote or hybrid work? What's working for your business, and more importantly what’s not? 📌 I can meet you: - At your office (I'll bring you a doughnut) - Somewhere local in Waterford City (coffee on me) - Or here at workLAB Waterford (coffee on me, tour on Alicia Maguire) Grow Remote is a social enterprise trading for impact. A 20 minute chat will really help shape the supports and solutions we build for employers in Ireland and in turn enable our impact led activities such as social events for remote workers around the country. Apart from a free doughnut or coffee, I can also share resources, connections, or insights that might help any of the challenges you share. Drop me a message or comment below and I'll reach out to you via DM 👇 #BetterTogether #RemoteWork #HybridWork #Waterford #ConnectedHubs #SMEs #FutureOfWork #WorkLAB #TalkToTheCustomer
