#TBT March 27, 1794, President George Washington signed the “Naval Act of 1794”, authorizing the construction of the US Navy’s first six frigates in order to protect the U.S. commerce from attacks of barbary pirates and European powers. The frigates (USS United States, USS Constellation, USS Constitution, USS Congress, USS Chesapeake and USS President) were the Navy’s first classified warships. Today, USS Constitution is the world's oldest commissioned warship afloat. As Administrative Clerk and Command Pay and Personnel Administrator, YN2 Floyd displayed outstanding managerial ability, ensuring the streamlining of over 2560 pieces of correspendence, 78 fitness reports and evaluations, 36 awards and one award ceremony, increasing productivity within the admin department by 30 percent. Additionally, she managed, oversaw and executed 22 transfers, 30 gains, 11 separations, 40 Record of Emergency Data/ Dependency application updates and correctged 15 pay discrepancies. #BravoZulu #JSOQ #NavalExcellence

Congratulations to Yeoman 1st Class (AW/SW) Brockton Wiley for being selected as Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic's Senior Petty Officer of the Quarter. YN1 Wiley managed and supervised six Sailors in the streamlining of over 260 pieces of correspondence, 78 fitness reports and evaluations, 26 gains, 17 transfers, 31 separations and retirments and the back payment of multiple entitlements in an excess of $9,000 with 100 percent accuracy. Additionally, he managed a duty section of 24 personnel in support of all watch and anti-terrorism force protection requirements for Commander, Naval Air Force Atlantic, improving overall command security and watch requirements. #BravoZulu #SSOQ #NavalExcellence

On March 4, Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 12 performed their final flight. HM-12 was one of two Navy squadrons still flying the MH53-E Sea Dragon helicopter. Today, March 21, HM-12 held their sundown ceremony, deactivating the command and leaving their sister command, the HM-15 “Blackhawks”, as the last Navy squadron flying the MH53-E Sea Dragon.
