Gilroy reflects on the illusion of power, human behavior, and how even the most structured systems are shaped by people’s needs, fears, and ambitions. It’s a sharp, layered conversation about storytelling, control, and what makes one of his favorite Andor scenes so emotionally powerful. 👀 Listen here: https://lnkd.in/eMARbbrz 🎧 Available on all major platforms. 📢 Reminder for documentary storytellers and nonfiction professionals! The largest global study of documentary storytellers is back with its biennial industry survey. This is the only ongoing study that tracks trends in revenue, funding, distribution, and lived experiences in nonfiction film. Conducted by the Center for Media & Social Impact (CMSI) since 2016, the survey offers critical insight into the state of the field. Why participate? • Navigating a shifting political economy of distributors • Documented resistance to human rights content • Rising global political, social, and economic instability This year includes new questions about artificial intelligence and censorship to better understand their growing influence on nonfiction work. ✅ The survey is confidential and available in English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. It takes about 20 minutes to complete. 👉 Take the survey here: tinyurl.com/cmsisurvey 📑 Explore past reports: https://lnkd.in/etVBhe-M #DocumentaryStorytelling #NonfictionFilm #CMSI #Survey #DocumentaryIndustry #MediaResearch

Center for Media & Social Impact (CMSI) reposted this
This week was the 6th annual Yes, And... Laughter Lab Comedy Fest (affectionately known as YALLFest) and I am still in awe of Mik Moore and Caty Borum for growing the idea that “Comedy Can Change the World” into a community of now more than 200 comedic creatives who can, do and will continue to do just that through their brilliant and HILARIOUS projects. I’m so glad I could bring Comedy Central to the party from year 1 and that we are still here for it — because I still believe in that idea.
