ChatLoopBackOff Episode 59 (OpenCost) OpenCost is an incubating CNCF open source project used for measuring and allocating cloud infrastructure and container costs in real time. Built by Kubernetes experts and supported by finops practitioners, OpenCost is a vital tool for operators to understand their Kubernetes spend footprint. ChatLoopBackOff Episode 58 (Helm) A CNCF graduated project since 2020, Helm is an open source package manager for Kubernetes. It provides the ability to provide, share, and use software on clusters. It is a highly customizable tool, and it abstracts the application deployment to a simple configuration file. Originally created in 2015, Helm is driving into 2025 with plans of a major new version, Helm 4, which has brought in new contributors and users who are passionate about application deployment on Kubernetes. ChatLoopBackOff Episode 57 (OpenYurt) A CNCF incubating project, OpenYurt joined the cloud-native ecosystem in 2020. This project is an intelligent edge computing platform which aims to extend the Cloud Native ecosystem to edge computing and IoT scenarios. By making non-intrusive enhancements, it empowers users to manage large scale edge computing workloads in different architectures (e.g., ARM and X86) in a native Kubernetes manner. ChatLoopBackOff Episode 56 (Kubescape) A CNCF sandbox project, Kubescape was created by ARMO as an open-source Kubernetes security platform to provides comprehensive security coverage. It offers hardening, posture management, and runtime security capabilities to ensure robust protection for Kubernetes environments. Join CNCF Ambassador Shivay Lamba as he explores Kubescape for the first time.
