Congratulations to our friends at abc7NY who launched their brand new flagship news studios this weekend! ✨ 👀 🎥 (Swipe to the end to see the rendering-to-reality!) We designed these versatile studios (a main and multi-function space plus two flash studios) as part of ABC/Disney's broader move to their new headquarters at 7 Hudson Square, a multi-year effort that unites their production teams under one state-of-the-art roof. Our design features a panoramic LED skyline, an LED volume for virtual production, and a home base for weather with multiple interactive presentation screens. We designed towards a minimal aesthetic, limiting the material palette and emphasizing clean formal alignments. We also had some fun abstracting the iconic "7" brand mark with custom wallpaper paterns, a super-sized LED graphic treatment at the weather zone, and a dramatic, suspended ceiling sculpture above the main anchor position.
