Mercy Hospital caregivers recently volunteered at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. This small, but mighty team worked in the warehouse and packed nearly 3,000 meals for our neighbors in need while volunteering!

Congratulations to Taylor Baum, BSN, RN, a nurse on our Intensive Care Unit (ICU), for receiving Mercy Hospital's most recent DAISY Award for nursing excellence. In nominating Taylor, the family of a patient noted she (Taylor) deserves to be celebrated for truly saving the patient's life. The nomination praised Taylor for never leaving her patient's side, and for providing, "unwavering support and expert care". The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates the exceptional, compassionate and skillful care given by nurses every day. Cleveland Clinic collaborates with the DAISY Foundation to provide ongoing recognition of the clinical skill and compassion nurses provide to patients and families all year long.
