We may not have taken home the win tonight, but it was a great game with money raised for Blessings in a Backpack and the Housing Action Coalition. We are grateful for everyone in the Waukesha, New Berlin and Brookfield Police and Fire Departments who serve our communities every day! #BootsAndBadges #FirstResponders #WaukeshaPolice #WaukeshaFire

Today marks a major milestone for the City of Waukesha Fire Department—50 years of life-saving paramedic service! On April 7, 1975, ten firefighters—known as Alpha 10—began 1,000 hours of training at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. This effort, made possible through a partnership between the hospital and the Fire Department, helped bring the expertise of the emergency room directly to the scene. Did You Know? 🚑 The first paramedics wore white smocks to help reassure the public they were receiving expert care. 🚑 Waukesha was home to the fifth paramedic program in Wisconsin. 🚑 By January 1, 1996, all firefighters were certified EMTs. 🚑 Today, around 70% of sworn personnel are paramedics—and it's now required for all new hires. Want to dive deeper into this incredible history? Check out this podcast recording with Fire Historian Dan Carstens: https://lnkd.in/d6MYfVHN Join us in celebrating this milestone and the incredible dedication of our Fire Department! 👏 #WaukeshaFire #Waukesha #WaukeshaHistory

Today we said farewell to Interim Clerk Linda Gourdoux as she returns to retirement. After previously retiring as Deputy Clerk from another community, Linda generously came out of retirement to assist the City of Waukesha while we searched for a Clerk. During her time with us, she played a key role in guiding the City through three elections, including last fall’s Presidential Election. Thank you, Linda, for your dedication and service. Wishing you a happy retirement—again! #Waukesha #WaukeshaTeam #CityClerk
