Please join us in congratulating Lisa Welstead on her promotion to Recreation Program Coordinator! Before starting her new role in January, Lisa joined the City in 2018 as a Recreation Specialist in the Recreation and Parks Department. Over the years, she has played an integral role in the success of numerous events. Her creativity and adaptability particularly stood out during the COVID-19 pandemic, when she brought fresh ideas to the table, including activities such as "Elf in the Park," a festive holiday scavenger hunt for kids. In her new role, Lisa is taking on a broader leadership position as the coordinator for the City’s most beloved special events, such as Whale of a Day, Fourth of July, Breakfast with Santa, and Movies and Concerts in the Park, enhancing event experiences and fostering community engagement. A proud Rancho Palos Verdes local, Lisa graduated from Palos Verdes Peninsula High School and has cultivated strong connections within the community. Her deep familiarity with and passion for serving the area makes her a tremendous asset to the City. When she is not at work, Lisa spends most of her time driving her three children to and from sports games, gymnastics practices, and dance recitals. She enjoys volunteering for Little League, Art at Your Fingertips, and serving as PTA President for Cornerstone Elementary School. Congrats, Lisa!
